What is the Plastic Reality Project?
The Plastic Reality Project is a unique up-skilling initiative that arms business leaders and environmental practitioners with knowledge and experiences to catalyse action on plastic waste.
The gap between ambition and action on plastic is stark. Ambitious-but-unfulfilled global plastic commitments feel empty against a backdrop of ever-increasing production.
To help bridge this gap, the Plastic Reality Project inspires cohorts of sustainability leaders and spark more effective action to tackle plastic pollution.
Over the next five years, rePurpose will invite attendees to experience first-hand the challenges, solutions, and people behind our fight against plastic pollution. Participants will be empowered by unique educational expeditions, corporate training programs, and peer mentoring networks.

Industry-leading partnerships
The Plastic Reality Project is supported by Sustainable Ocean Alliance and GreenBiz Group. The inaugural expedition was launched in September 2022 with a week-long trip to Tamil Nadu and Kerala in India. The second Plastic Reality Project ran in Karnataka and Goa, India, in October 2023.
